Toyota Blockchain Lab and Avalanche introduced a joint “Trust Chain” concept to power a Mobility Orchestration Network (MON) that digitizes vehicle identity, compliance, and payments across borders, using Avalanche’s multi-chain design for sub‑second settlement and interoperability. The white paper outlines how verifiable proofs feed a Mobility Oriented Account for each vehicle, enabling ownership transfer, insurance, and finance on-chain.

The partners say MON aims to fix fragmented mobility systems by linking automakers, regulators, insurers, and service providers on a shared verification layer, reducing fraud and manual checks across markets. Avalanche is cited for scale and custom Layer‑1s, letting enterprises run dedicated chains for security tokens, utilities, and stablecoin payments while staying interoperable via messaging standards.

Toyota’s framework adds a “fungibility ladder,” starting with a vehicle as an NFT, then bundling fleets for risk pooling, and finally issuing compliant security tokens to attract institutional funding into EVs, logistics, and autonomous services. This structure could lower capital costs in emerging markets and speed cross‑border mobility transactions through trusted data and programmable finance.

Toyota has explored blockchain for mobility trust, proposing MON as a protocol layer to orchestrate data access, service coordination, and financial flows among many stakeholders, with Ava Labs supporting the technical approach in the white paper. Recent coverage also notes Avalanche’s broader push in real‑world assets, aligning with enterprise‑grade mobility use cases highlighted in MON’s prototype design.
